About The ELC
The Greenforest Early Learning Center is designed to meet the developmental and spiritual needs of children ages 6 weeks - 4 years- "God's Way." Our curriculum is God-centered, culturally focused and academically sound. The program provides experiences that enrich and enhance each child's cognitive, language, social, physical, and creative development. The Early Learning Center uses the ABEKA curriculum (a Christian based academic curriculum). Our academic subjects challenge students in phonics, numbers, writing, science, and art. To ensure balance, our program also features Bible, African-American history, Spanish, computer, music, and physical education. Field trips, extra-curricular activities, and special guest speakers encourage parental involvement, and enhance the richness of our program. Opportunities for solitary play as well as group activities are provided. A dynamic 390-gallon built-in tropical fish tank enhances the children's wonder at the world around them.Health, nutrition and safety considerations are integral parts of our program. Health coverage is provided by a full-time nurse in a three-bed nurse's station. Lunches are prepared daily by a professional caterer on site and delivered to 1-4 year old classrooms. All 31 classrooms are protected by a computerized security system and are also in direct communication with the Administration Office. Age specific playgrounds separate 1 and 2 year olds from 3 and 4 year olds, and are accessed directly from each classroom.Convenient hours for the Early Learning Center are 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Lunch and morning/ afternoon snacks are provided.
