My Story
Mrs. Marilynn McDonald Brooks has been appointed as Head of Schools/Principal at the Greenforest-McCalep Academic Center as of July 2025. With over a decade of service to "The Forest" community, Mrs. Brooks previously held the position of Assistant Principal from 2019 to 2025 and taught as a foundational 4th-grade instructor from 2015 to 2019. Her educational philosophy emphasizes that "One Size Does Not Fit All," anchored in the values of Relationships, Receptiveness, and Responsiveness. Mrs. Brooks possesses over 30 years of experience in Christian education, having held various roles including Director of the Hopewell Campus and Lead Teacher at Hopewell Christian Academy. She holds an Educational Specialist degree in Administration, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Movement & Sports Science. Personally, she is married to Coach Brooks and is the mother of their son, Yanni, with a commitment to fostering students as "World Changers" through a commitment to excellence in education aligned with her faith.
